Day 1, Tue: Miami to Quito
Depart Miami at in evening to Quito.

Day 2, Wed: Quito
Quito Free day morning at leisure for independent pursuits.
Optional Quito Tour Available. Afternoon to relax and eat in one of
the many restaurants where you can enjoy the local cuisine and
hospitality of the local people.

Day 3, Thu; Baltra
Transfer in the morning to airport for the two hour flight
to the Galapagos from Quito. Upon arrival, meet your family naturalist guide
and transfer to the Luxury family cruise. The ships crew will greet you on
board, take care of your luggage, and run through safety drills. Enjoy fresh
fruit drinks as the yacht makes her way to the first site visit. As the sun
sets, enjoy a typical Ecuadorian meal, the nightly briefing and formal
presentation of the captain and crew. During the rest of this week, your
family will leisurely voyage through the stunning Galapagos Islands, among a
varied landscape and diverse flora and fauna.

Day 4, Fri; AM Espinoza Point
(Fernandina Island) PM Tagus Cove (Isabela Island)
This morning visit Urbina Bay on Isabela Island,
which is the largest island in the Galapagos. It was created by the
eruption of five volcanoes that flowed together. Graffiti dating
back to 1800's is written on the rocky cliff, believed to be done by
pirates and buccaneers. The trail leads to Darwin's salt-water
lagoon and an excellent view of the lava fields, volcanic formations
and the ocean. A Dinghy ride will allow you to see marine life and
Galapagos Penguins and flightless cormorants. Visit large
populations of giant tortoises, Galapagos penguins, Galapagos hawks
and frigate birds. This afternoon, catch sight of the largest colony
of Marine iguanas sharing space with sally-lightfoot crabs in Punta
Espinoza, Fernandina Island. Also to be found are Flightless
Cormorants nesting points, Galapagos Penguins, Galapagos Hawks and
Sea lions. Among the Flora are Brachycereus cactus and mangroves
extending into the sea. Recent lava flows formed by an active
volcano are also evident.

Day 5, Sat;
AM Egas Port (Santiago Island) PM Rabida (Jervis)
Suarez Point: Dry landing, hiking, blowhole, waved
albatross(april to december), masked boobies
Interpretation Center: Dry landing, geological
interpretation and human history of the islands Egas Port: Wet landing,
hiking, snorkelling, rock formations, sea birds, fur seals.
Rabida: Wet landing, hiking, snorkeling, sea lions,
sea birds

Day 6, Sun; Charles Darwin Station &
Land Tortoise Breeding in
Santa Cruz Island
Visit h ome to the Charles Darwin
Research Station and the Galapagos National Park Service,
where you will find atortoise breeding center, flamingo, land
iguanas, interesting vegetation and geography.
AM - Visiting the famous Charles Darwin Research
Station will be certainly a rewarding adventure for this morning's
program Upon arrival, we proceed to visit the Charles Darwin
Research Station and the rearing in captivity program for the famous
giant tortoises. Here we will get to understand the
conservation efforts promoted by this institution, and stroll among
an impressive giant prickly-pear cactus forest where endemic land
birds can be seen.
PM – Visit to the Highlands on Santa Cruz Island
where we will take you into the higher
elevations of Santa Cruz. Along the way you will experience
all seven different vegetation zones. A visit to the tortoise
reserve offers the opportunity to see tortoises in the wild.

Day 7, Mon;
Bachas Beach, then fly to Quito, then overnight flight home
Breakfast on board ship. Morning excursion to
spectacular Bachas Beach, where white sands edge flamingo lagoons. Look
for boobies flying overhead, see green sea turtles, and snorkel. Return
to ship and prepare to disembark. Transfer to Galapagos Airport. Return
flight to Quito, Overnight flight home.

Galapagos Extension Tour Package
Day 08: Quito Papallacta - La Casa del Suizo
Depart from Quito Early this morning. Along the way you will stop at
Papallacta; a small mountain village famed for its natural hot springs,
After your family eat lunch here, you family will continue along a scenic
stretch of road which takes you to majestic Andes highlands and down into
Amazon region to admire lush green valleys and beautiful sparkling
waterfalls. At a tiny port town on the North bank of the Napo River the road
ends at Punta Ahuano, where canoes awaiting for you for a late afternoon 15
minute ride downstream to la Casa del Suizo. Arrive on time to get settled &
enjoy swimming pool with a refreshing welcome cocktails

Day 09: Amazon Jungle Exploration
After breakfast the group will board a dugout canoe, and navigate 20 minutes
down the waters of the scenic Napo River. The destination is Pangayacu,
where during an approximately three-hour walk through primary Amazon
rainforest, visitors will have the opportunity to see actual hunting traps
which were traditionally used by the local natives in the past. The local
guides will demonstrate how they work and explain which type of animals was
caught in each one. And of course, at all times we will be on the lookout
for tropical birds, and point out important aspects of the surrounding
vegetation. The trail leads to the home of a Quichua Indian family, whose
garden contains many medicinal plants still commonly used today. Your
Naturalist guide will explain how they are prepared, and afterwards serve
lunch (which will be sent from the hotel) near the edge of the Napo river.
Later, the group will continue on to the village of Ahuano, where we may
learn about several aspects of traditional Quichua culture. A local host
will show us how to make chicha, a typical beverage (which of course all may
taste), and demonstrate the spiritual cleaning rituals still practiced today
throughout the surrounding community. Finally, all may participate in a
blowgun target-shooting contest - but don't expect to beat the natives!

Day 10: Amazon Jungle Exploration
Start by Misicocha Adventure visit consisting of a walk through primary and
secondary forest trails, along which it is possible to observe distinct
species of birds and insects as well as a great variety of trees & medicinal
plants. You family guides will explain how such plants are used not only in
medicine, but also in construction & other important local activities. Along
the guided trails, family may enjoy several opportunities for family
adventure, such as hanging bridges, & vines for swinging from tree to tree.
After the walk kids and parents may choose to eat lunch in the jungle, and
later live the incredible experience of building and navigating a raft! On a
small river island, your family guide will show your family how to tie balsa
logs together, so those who wish can float down the Napo for about an hour
back to La Casa del Suizo. The duration of this visit is around four hours,
and from five to six hours if you choose to have lunch in the forest. For
our more physically limited family adventure, who do not wish or are not
able to participate in all of the activities listed above, There is family
alternatives such as "The Island": A 1 hour walk along a totally flat river
island, where one may observe a great variety of plants and insects. It is
also possible for family to visit an artisan in the village of Ahuano, who
will demonstrate how the traditional Quichua ceramics are created. painted,
and hardened.

Day 11: - Quito - Fly Home today
After breakfast the group will depart for the trip up the mountains and back
to Quito. About halfway there, the bus will stop at a lookout to stretch
your legs and enjoy a box lunch before continuing on to Quito
