The vast Serengeti beckons as you embark on Great Migration of Serengeti and Masai Mara safari. Take your first game drive through Lake Manyara National Park, renowned among birders for huge flocks of pink flamingoes, as well as giraffes, baboons, hippos, and elephants. Arrive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, populated by an estimated 30,000 large mammals. Olduvai Gorge to Serengeti Study the history of mankind at Olduvai Gorge, where archaeologists Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the fossilized remains of the earliest known man, an estimated 1.8 million years old. Continue wildlife viewing while driving the rough dirt roads across the plains to your safari lodge in the Serengeti, which was inspired by Masai tribal dwellings. The Serengeti is undoubtedly the most famous wildlife sanctuary in the world with its seemingly endless plains, rivers and fascinating rocky outcrops called `kopjes’ and where the highest concentration of wildlife ebbs and flows. The famous wildebeeste migration, rotate in their hundreds of thousands in a circuitous route seeking young blades of grass by following the rain patterns throughout the year.
