Golfers Lodge (Luxury Garden suite) Day 3: Jonesburg to Victoria Falls Catch a morning flight through Joburg, to Victoria falls, gateway to the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. The Falls are more than a mile wide and one of the Natural Wonders of the World. The deafening roar of the water and the misty haze makes it apparent why local tribes called the falls, Mosi-o-Tunya, "the smoke that thunders." This afternoon, you'll feel the mist and see the beautiful rainbows of majestic Victoria Falls during a walk through the rainforest, with stops at magnificent viewpoints along the way Overnight accommodation: Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Day 4: Victoria Falls After breakfast, a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. This walking safari takes one through the magnificent rain forest to view the Cataracts, Livingstone's statue and a wide variety of birds and plants. Visit the craft village with opportunity to see traditional lifestyles and markets. Afternoon sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. (Breakfast included) Overnight accommodation: Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Day 5: Victoria Falls - Chobe National Park This morning you will be collected from the hotel and transferred to the Chobe Game Lodge, where you spend the next (2) nights on a fully inclusive basis. This is one of Botswana’s most exclusive safari resorts. Situated in the remote and unspoiled northern extremity of the Park and approximately 90 kilometres west of Victoria Falls, the lodge offers every luxury and comfort for your sojourn in the wilds. The architecture is Moorish and graceful - high arches, barrel-vault ceilings and tiled floors create an atmosphere of spaciousness and tranquillity. All 48 rooms are tastefully furnished and cooled by air conditioning and fans. All rooms overlook the perennial Chobe River and adjacent Caprivi flood plains. Facilities within the lodge include a well stocked curio shop, wildlife reference library and stylishly decorated Linyanti bar and lounge area. Game drive are conducted in open four-wheel drive vehicles. The Chobe flood plain is renowned for its concentration of buffalo and elephant, and the late afternoon in particular provides spectacular viewing. A sunset cruise down the Chobe River is an experience that will always linger. Overnight accommodation: Chobe Game Lodge (including all meals) Day 06: Chobe National Park At Chobe Game Lodge, 3 meals daily, teas and coffees, 2 game activities per day, refreshments on game drives and many other activities to choose from. Chobe has 750 bird species and Africa's largest concentration of elephants Overnight accommodation: Chobe Game Lodge (ncluding all meals) Day 07: Victoria Fall to Cape Town Morning Game drive, then you will be collected at the lodge and transferred directly back to the Victoria Falls Airport for your outbound flight, back to Cape Town. where you will be tranferred to your hotel Overnight accommodation: Protea Sea Point Day 8 Cape Town to Garden Route Depart from Cape Town and drive eastwards via Sir Lowry's Pass and the famous apple country of Grabouw to Swellendam and Mossel Bay. Here we visit arguably the oldest post office in Africa, the Post Office Tree, and the site of the first landfall, made by the Portuguese explorer Bartholomeu Dias in 1488. From here we truly enter the Garden Route and travel past George via the Wilderness Lakelands to Knysna. Overnight at Fish Eagle Lodge or similar. Day 9 Garden Route We explore Knysna and travel further to Plettenberg Bay for a short visit. Then we traverse through magnificent scenic river valley passes. We visit the Tsitsikamma National Park (Khoisan for 'The place of much water') stretching over 100 km of wild and rocky coastline characterised by massive cliffs, narrow isolated beaches and shady indigenous forests along the river valleys. Our next stop is Storms River with the impressive Paul Sauer Bridge across the valley, towering 139 m above the river. Return to Knysna via the “Big Tree” and spend the last part of the afternoon exploring the Heads at Knysna. Overnight at Fish Eagle Lodge or similar. Day 10.Garden Route We board a boat for a short trip on the Knysna Lagoon. Then traverse through the lake lands, along high cliffs with the sea beneath, through tunnels and over bridges to George. Here we meet up with our coach and travel via the scenic Outeniqua Pass to Oudsthoorn, also known as the 'Feather Capital' of the world, as by far the largest concentration of ostrich farms in the world are found here. We visit the Cango Caves, regarded as one of South Africa's foremost natural wonders. The fascinating calcite caves comprises an underground wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites. Overnight at La Plume Guest Lodge. Day 11 Garden Route After an early start, we visit an ostrich show farm for some unique experiences, including ostrich racing. Travel further via Montagu and Worcester through the Huguenot Tunnel. On the other side of the mountains, on a clear day, you can see Table Mountain in the distance. Arrive in Cape Town where the Garden route tour ends Overnight accommodation: Protea Sea Point Day 12 Cape Town Cape town at Leisure to Relax Overnight accommodation: Protea Sea Point Day 13:CAPE TOWN -JOHANNESBURG Enjoy a half day at leisure to explore this beautiful city. Be sure to walk along the waterfront and browse the numerous shops Be back at Airport at 2:30 PM to catch flight to Johannesburg.
